Two-storey house with shops in the basement in Halkidiki

The request was to create a two-story house with an attic as a residence that would accommodate the client's family, with the possibility of separating them from one space into two separate residences for his children. Shops would be placed in the basement which would be rented and would have different access and outdoor space from the residence. Considering the client's requirements and the limitations of the NOK, we designed a modern building with references to the traditional architecture of Halkidiki. The main concern of the result was the functionality of the space before and after their separation into different residences, but also the undisturbed operation of the basement shops. The bioclimatic design of the building played a primary role in the result, so that it has excellent access from the sun during the winter months and its exclusion in the summer, as well as the natural ventilation of the space.
